A Realm of Sacred Joy

Surprise, Honey

SEPTEMBER FREEFORM

Leaving safe stillness,  sleep swayed silence,
she stirs in her blankets, gathers fresh flowers,
soft sunlight spilling,
but shadows slink closer,
unspoken sequential words linger,
fingers curling, fear flickers.

Once, warmth woven,
wonderful whispers,
waltzing in the garden,
where laughter lingers,
but now,
the air thickens,
a tempest brews,
an echo of anger, knife held in query
the storm breaching the calm.

Cautious cadence,
careful conversations,
counting days on the calendar,
counting scars,
the flicker of fury,
a thunderous heart,
every glance a gauntlet,
every smile a mask.

Startled by sneak-ups,
she searches for solace,
in the corners of chaos,
where dreams dim,
and dread fills the void,
a tightening coil,
the chill of betrayal,
the air heavy with hurt.

In the dark, she finds strength,
silent screams shatter,
a spark ignites her own surprise,
the will to wander,
to break the binds,
to breathe into light,
fleeing the familiar,
the fight for freedom,
the final farewell.
