LANDAY FOR AUGUST
What wouldn’t have happened if deep learning withdrew,
Patterns unseen, as our hopes fade from view.
Ecosystems falter, their secrets untold,
In a world without insight, the future grows cold.
What wouldn’t have happened if data remained blind,
No models to guide us, no solutions to find.
Soils stripped of their richness, biodiversity lost,
Without AI’s embrace, we all pay the cost.
What wouldn’t have happened if we couldn’t predict,
The paths of climate change, the energy, and our weaknesses only conflict.
In the chaos of our greedy nature, we’d drift further apart,
Without deep learning’s forecast where thin glass shatters our heart.
What wouldn’t have happened without all of those numbers calculated faster than it owes.
Can we poets imagine?
We would have a very short future full of nothing but woes.
With a deeper learning of algorithms they were born of some miracle given to save us from ourselves, our Hitlers, our waste, and from our moral fickle.
